Invitation to my Bedroom (Wordless Wednesday)

Today, the maniac is at daycare, and the husband is away.

I am spending the morning in my favorite place of the house. My bedroom. Well, technically, I guess it is "our" bedroom (my husband and me), but really, it is MY bedroom. He just gets half the bed. Almost half.

My other baby gets quality rest time with his mama:

This is my view as I lay in bed. I stare at the light coming in the windows.

This is the picture directly in front of me. No, it is not a portrait of me. It is Flaming June. She just looks just like I do right now. (Shout out to my dear, good friend, Jen, who sent me this!)

This is a painting I stare at as well. My dear Grandma painted this of my son.

My dear Grandma also painted this beautiful painting that hangs above our bed. It is my husband and me, at the beach.

My bedroom is a definite homage to relaxation. Is yours?

I'm linking up with Wordless Wednesday at Live and Love Out Loud.

This is a great post; you have an awesome bedroom. Mine is also a beacon of relaxation and calm amidst the chaos having a toddler brings. I love to be in there.
I'll have to do a post like this as well!

I like your bedroom, especially the cat, I used to have three of them. Now I just have a tot who comes to my bed in the morning (I said my bed as well, he he) and my Hubs who is getting half of the bed too (if he's behaving).

For as much as I L-O-V-E bed, I hate my bedroom. I hate the color, the lay-out, the mess, the lighting... There is nothing uplifting or relaxing about the room!

Your Grandma is a talented artist! And you bedroom looks very relaxing!

I prefer my guest bedroom to my master bedroom because it's more well-lit. I like light and airy like yours!

Our bedroom is up a steep set of stairs. I usually go up there just to sleep. At night. When it's dark. ;)

I live for my bedroom too, but mostly it's because my bed is amazing! I actually love every inch of my apartment so it doesn't matter what part I'm in I love it. That picture is so awesome that your grandma did and I'm glad you got some time to hang out alone with you and the cat in your favorite space! Hope you had some pinot too!

I'd say my room is an homage to my son's dislike of aggregating his toys in one place. Oh, and his huge enthusiasm for relocating soil from my potted plants to the carpet! It's been a while since my room felt restful, thanks to His Whirliness.

I feel relaxed after looking at your pictures, FWIW. :D

Those paintings from your Gma are amazing. What a treasure. My bedroom is more masculine, but I like it for sleeping.

I'm in my relaxing space right now. It's a little chair in the corner of the living room, with a side table for my cup of green tea.

Your grandma's painting are amazing! I zoomed in on the one of your son. I thought it was a photo at first!

love the pics - looks like a great bedroom =)

I've had a matted & framed Flaming June in my bedroom since college - LOVE HER - and from time to time still find myself staring transfixed at her

Very serene. I love your grandmother's paintings! She's quite an artist.

My room [like you, I think of it as MY bedroom, and the husband gets about 1/3 of the bed] is pretty calming, too. I like that.

Sigh, this is nice. My bedroom isn't the oasis I wish it was. I do sleep well there, but it is cramped and poorly organized.

Kat said...

Our bedroom is nowhere near Oasis status. We just re-painted it a much more relaxing cream color, but beyond that it needs more light and other appropriate bedroom furniture-type accessories.

Thank you for sharing that artwork with us!
