Rocky Mountain High (Wordless Wednesday)

We are fortunate to have the Rocky Mountains nearby to play in. We live at the base of Cheyenne Mountain/Canyon and Pikes Peak in Colorado. Just a short distance away are many beautiful options for camping.

We went last Sunday night, just the three of us, and it was wonderful...

I could not help but think of my grandma many times, as I sat, surrounded by the majesty of the forest around me. She had a great appreciation for this kind of beauty.

And, of course, some pictures that Parker took:

I am linking up with Kristi at Live and Love Out Loud for Wordless Wednesday.

Let's try this again - apparently my brain wasn't conversing with my fingers to allow me to type in complete sentences...heh!

Ohhhhh! You ARE lucky! All those shots make me wish I was still living in the Pacific Northwest (or where you are...) - being able to camp in the mountains at will is heaven! :) Beautiful place and beautiful shots - love the ones Parker took, too! :)

Looks like an awesome time. I've never been up that way, I live way down south. Great pics!

so pretty! almost makes me want to go camping, but then i remember that it involves sleeping on the ground and toileting straight into the earth rather than into a clean porceline bowl & i'm over it.

This is the kind of nature I can appreciate - the one where someone else does the legwork.

Those photos are gorgeous.

Gorgeous! We're headed to CO later this summer to visit friends and I cannot wait. It's time to escape this miserable heat!

Beautiful pictures!

Can I just ask though, what IS it with these boys and their cars?? They have to line them up just perfectly! Mine does the same thing!

Oh wow you are so lucky! Match and I talked about moving to Colorado and if we ever got the opportunity I think we'd take it. Those mountains are beautiful and that looked like the perfect kind of camping. No one around and absolutely gorgeous. Lucky you!

Gotta say...I'm impressed. I am NOT a camper...I can't do it. I like the outdoors...through a window. Lol.

I just came home from two weeks in the Rocky Mountains. I love, love, love those Rockies. Tried but not successfully to get to the top of Mount Yale. It is now my personal workout goal. You are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place.

Ba.D. happened to be sitting on the edge of the couch as I opened this window. "Great title! In fact, that's a great title for a book!" I told him it's a great blog, not just a great blog title--so let's see if he starts lurking here! ;)

These pictures make me wish I'd had more time in Colorado a few weeks back. It's OK that I only had four days, though. I'll be back again before too long, remembering what it's like to be surrounded by more trees than cars!

I want to camp there! It looks so great. I love the mountains and live in the middle of the prairie. Not sure how that happened!
