I am also the proud recipient of an Editor's Choice award for Pocket Change at Become.com!
And, now, I cannot help but be reminded of last year when I wrote about my son eating money around Thanksgiving time, "Forget Turkey and Stuffing. I'll have Pennies and Dimes."
Last night, Parker ate cat food.
Parker threw up last night, and we thought he was getting sick. We fawned over him, set him up on the couch, and geared up for more vomit. Because, you know that when a child is sick and throws up, it doesn't just happen once. I thought it interesting he didn't have a fever.
Turns out, he gave cat food a try, and his body promptly rejected it.
He is fine. He is not sick. It's time to get ready for our Thanksgiving trip and leave the cats with a big honkin' pile of cat food - and no one to compete with for food.

We're having to keep an eye on our dog to make sure he isn't stealing Lilly's food, I'm really glad now that it isn't the other way around!
My daughter eats dog food sometimes. It hasn't made her puke yet. I wonder if that means she is part dog.
Oh, my! I'm glad it didn't make her seriously ill, although puking is bad enough!
Have fun in Iowa!
Glad Parker isn't sick from the cat food. Hopefully he'll steer clear of curious eating habits.
Thanks for coming to Baby J's baby shower. You are such a wonderful friend.
Love ya and be safe.
Yucko! Tell him he has to go potty in the litterbox if he does it again.... wait, scratch that. He'll probably want to do that.
I used to eat dog bones, apparently those aren't bad for ya? cat food? i can totally see it, that shit reeks.
Well if it's good enough for the cat then it's good enough for me
In a way it's a blessing that it didn't sit right because he'll never do it again. UGH!
Euw, but it does make me wonder what on earth is in that stuff! ;)
Cat food and turkey go well together!
Wet cat food or dry? Cause the wet already looks like vomit. My kid likes to sneak a crunchy piece here and there of the dry. So gross.
nice
Li'l D loves helping me pour the dog's food in the morning, the downside of which is that he likes pocketing it for later consumption. Ugh.
Oh my god. Are you kidding me? I would have vomited in sympathy.
What's a good side dish for cat food? Brussels sprouts?
Happy Thanksgiving!
Mmm, I think my kids have tried worse things than cat food. Like rabbit poo...
Congratulations on your award!
--Ahhhhhhhhh, sweet Kitty Kat :)))
Congrats on your award. You deserve it.x
hahaha...the things kids will eat.
We just got back from the babies' Thanksgiving dinner at daycare. Once my heart returns to normal rhythm, maybe I will blog about Drew eating the prong off the plastic fork.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
HAHAAHAHAH! Wow, I have a distinct memory of trying out cat food as a child... it was dry. I don't remember horking afterward. That either means:
a) my stomach is part cat
b) cat food was way better back then
c) dry isn't nearly as disgusting as wet
e) I'm just weird
Happy Thanksgiving and I'm glad it wasn't something more serious!
I'm always worried our son is going to taste test our dogs food! Keep the book momentum going! Congrats on your award! BTW, Is that cat giving me the finger!?
OMG that's so gross! Poor little guy.
Congrats on your award!!!
Laughing. At least he knows what's not to love about it now. :) Happy Thanksgiving!
Wow, mine haven't tried cat food yet. But dog food seems to agree with them just fine!
Who knows what it'll be next year? :)...dog food? :)
Happy Thanksgiving to you :)
How else would he ever know what it tastes like, without eating it? lol Of course, I'm only laughing because I'm imagining it to be dry kibbles - please tell me it wasn't the wet stuff. Eeew!
Ugh... Parker will insist on learning the hard way!! Enjoy your trip and plaease DO continue working on your book. i always enjoy your writing.
xx Jazzy
