Little Sprouts

It's my last official day of work in the school year!

I came home and took a gander at what's going on in my backyard.

Little sprouts (zucchini - my garden is famous for it)

Little sprout (Parker - kinda world famous and definitely a big deal)

A real treasure, according to me (strawberries - reminds me of my grandmother's gardens)

Speaking of my grandma, say hello to Buddha (who has graciously moved from her garden to mine).

I have linked up with Wordless Wednesday at Live and Love Out Loud.

Yay for little sprouts! But beware of the sprouts with a hose in their grasp...

Yay! I am posting about my garden tonight. I grew tomatoes from seed. Melons and pumpkins, too. It's my first foray into a big garden. I love watching it all grow. I have my strawberries in a big pot. Every year the stupid chipmunks eat them just as the berries ripen. This year I bought a net - hoping it works!

Yes!! Strawberries in the garden remind me of my grandmother too!!!! What a heart warmer that little sprout is. Love your sprouts Kristy.

We're still waiting for it to be decent enough here so we can plant our seedlings. I'm still dubious about actually getting a real vegetable, as it has never worked out for me. But fingers crossed!

Are you a teacher? Our last school day is next darn Tuesday. I love your little plantlings; I so wish I could grow some but I feel like our oppressive Texan heat and the drought would just kill them. Boo.

We're zucchiniless this year! Darn frost!
Strawberrieless too. This post is making me quite envious! :p

Speaking of blue jobs - who tills your garden? That's one job that is not purple in my life. It all balances out - I certainly notice that weeding is a pink one!

I'm experiencing one of those rare moments where I really, really wish I lived somewhere with affordable homes for purchase. I'm happy where I live, sure--but how awesome would it be to have a garden again? Aaaah. I'll have to experience it vicariously, I suppose. :)
