Supermom? No. Sucker? Yes.

I am such a sucker.

I have been disillusioned and entranced by the lure of letting my sweet, precious boy share my bed.

I sit here now. Exhausted. With a sore neck. And a strong desire for naptime to last at least six hours today.

He is so cute.

How could I resist?

My husband is out of town. Parker was sick for a couple of days with a stomach bug. I felt sorry for him. I wanted extra cuddles. I asked him at night, “Do you want to sleep in Mommy bed?”

He smiled, so sweetly, and exclaimed, “Mommy bed!” and proceeded to kiss me all over my arm and my face. He even threw in a good lick.

It was a lovefest. Love conquers all.

Well, let me tell you now. Love does not conquer all. Love does not conquer a too-excited-to-be-in-mommy-bed-toddler who wakes at 5:00 am jumping on the bed. Love does not make this child LAY DOWN AND GO BACK TO SLEEP. Love does not make this child USE HIS BIG BOY VOICE when he is tired and cranky and whining by 9:00 am. Love does not conquer all when this said child throws a fit because he can’t have cake for lunch.

Apparently, Mommy needs a little more discipline, than love, in her life right now.

Parker will be going to bed in Parker bed tonight.

And Mommy will turn off the monitor.

Hehehehe!! We live and learn, eh?

And I've yet to learn. As I type my 10 year old in our bed sleeping with daddy!!
Well, maybe I have learned.... after all I get to sleep in WiiBoy's bed... alone ;-)

They grow up so quick... enjoy the snuggles!!

I feel for you. My daughter used to sneak into my bed at night and sleep with her feet in my back. Ugh!

We all get sucked in. The novelty wears off pretty quickly for me but not for the Woogettes. Get him out and shut the door. Good Mummy. xo

Oh but the licks are extra precious! My reward for my 10-month-old loving to give kisses is a cold every time she gets one.

Been there. It's brutal. Oh my goodness, I never knew that my son could sleep with his big toe in my nostril. I stand corrected.

Kristy, I love you. You and your blog! You always have me in stitches. And when I'm not in stitches, I'm annoyed with whomever you're annoyed with. And when I'm not annoyed, I'm wiping tears from my eyes. You have a great way of pulling me in. And yes, I'm talking about me. Because that's who you really write for right? Not yourself. lol

Oh!! I have been there... not as a mommy but as an aunt and i did not enjoy it either... :-( I was tired, grumpy, and i had my college semester exam the next day... a bad case of "WTF is going on" and "All i want is some sleep... PLEASE!"

We've been there too. Little tackers don't distinguish between one night when they were sick and every night. Hope you've caught up on some sleep.

Don't forget about how much space in a huge bed such a small person can manage to occupy all at once!

those little stinkers know that we are suckers...they prey on it!! hope you both get some rest!!

I hope you have the strength to carry through your convictions. We all give in! I have mastered the turn over without moving my arm - that is how often I end up with a child in my bed!

Oh, too cute. He IS adorable, you know...and I can imagine pretty hard to resist.

That said, I hope your own resistance is high, since you let your baby with the stomach bug lick you all over your face. (Sorry. That's the first thought that jumped into my head)

I would've done the same thing, sweets. With the exact same repercussions. Live and learn....

LOL! I only laugh because I have had the same love induced battles with weekend.

Sure is fun to cuddle but it is not good for sleeping.

Ah the things I have to look forward to, lol.

So funny! But, I used to do the same thing too! I loved the idea of my guys snuggling up and sleeping with me but I never ended up sleeping well. It's impossible to resist them...

Tell me about it. My son refuses to sleep in his room even with a night light and the tv on. He goes to sleep every night on the couch, but always ends up in our bed. My neck is so jacked up. We're working on it, but it's tough.

Lol, I was trying to beg for a cuddle last night but Babe wasn't having it! Turn the monitor off and enjoy it!

So lovely in theory, so annoying in reality. I also love to snuggle my little guy but he's sooo restless and noisy and both of us sleep SO much better when we are in our respective beds.

LoL! I remember squirming a lot when I slept with mom...don't worry, goes away with time. ;)

I think.

This past weekend my husband was out of town. Friday night when I went to bed, it occurred to me that it seemed like just last week I would ask the youngest if he wanted to sleep with me when daddy was out of town. Of course, it has been much longer than that since the youngest is now 13. I was saddened to realize those days are gone forever. Enjoy your sore neck. It beats a sore heart:)

Oh yes, back to his own bed, do not pass Go, do not collect anything along the way... LOL!

Oh god I KNOW that one so well! Hope you get a better sleep tonight! :)

Oh, boy. I must say that (so far) this is the ONE rule we have stuck to rigidly: no sleeping in our bed. It means getting up several times at night if Max is sick, but we do it in turns. By the 5th time, the temptation to plunk him between us is huge, but we stand tough...

Just call us heartless, huh? ;)

He is so cute! I can see why you'd be suckered. :)

Aaw! I wouldn't be able to resist either. Good thing I have dogs only!

oh man, so relatable. i have a 2 year old who occasionally sleeps in mommy's bed and every time I wake up thinking "WHY did I do that?" Their cuteness is too much of a weapon.
